ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL-classes restarting June 21

Good news! We will be restarting Adult Sunday School on June 21. We will continue our study of Timothy Keller’s video series titled, “A Journey Through Lent,” which focuses on prayer for the Lent season. Due to the Coronavirus, we were not able to complete the series before Lent; but, given the current situation, this study is still very appropriate. This sermon series is taken from select Psalms, which help us in times of self-examination, difficulty, and dryness, and invite us to ready hearts for remembering anew Jesus' death and resurrection. As always, teaching is shared and rotated between Sally Hager, Mike Ferguson, and Richard Benney. Please join us on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

Note that due to social distancing requirements, we need a larger room, so this class will now be held downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. There are 20 chairs set up with appropriate separation, and there is a TV already in the room to play the DVDS. Please click this link to sign-up to join by Zoom if you prefer to attend remotely.

The second adult class on Mere Christianity will meet in the Koinonia Chapel in order to accommodate social distancing. It will not be livestreamed at this time.

Monthly Prayer Time

Our special prayer times will continue, with two opportunities for group prayer.  We will meet at 11:15 a.m., on the first Tuesday of each month and at 11:45 a.m. on the last Sunday of each month.  Please join us as we pray for the world, our nation, and personal concerns.

5 Day Bible Reading Program

Join the congreation as we read through the Bible in 2020. Below is a resource to help you read through the Bible daily and engage with God. Click this link for your Bible Reading Program.

Tuesday Morning Bible Chapter Study - in person and Zoom

We meet every Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:30 am in the room adjoining the pastor's study.  In June, we just began the study of the Gospel of James. Our attendance averages 6-10.  We usually cover two chapters each week. Our procedure is to read the Bible text, consulting footnotes in our Bibles for clarification, and have lively discussions of how the message applies to everyday situations we encounter. We end with a brief time of prayers of gratitude and for needs requested by those present. The Bible is our sole textbook and there is no homework for this class. We study and learn together. Come join us at any time, whether you are a Bible scholar or new Christian. You will be warmly welcomed by the group.

Junior Church Program-temporarily postponed
We will continue to have Bible club at 9 a.m. for all children in the Marge Taylor room. Nursery care will be provided beginning at 8:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. for infants through age 4. Junior church will now be for children ages 4 to 9 years. Children ages 9 and up will now stay in the service, but will have an activity sheet to complete that goes along with the sermon. They will be turning in their completed sheet to Pastor Kevin, and there may be some surprises for them. We are looking for more volunteers to help with our junior church as we have some volunteers taking a break. We will have a curriculum to follow so that all you need to do is teach the lesson. Please contact CE chair Liz Hover if you are able to help with this ministry.

Prayer Journaling- temporarily postponed
Those intereted in prayer journaling will be gathering weekly in the Ethel Goerig Room (conference room) on Thursday mornings at 9:30 AM. This will be a time for sharing ideas, discussing the "how to's," and exploring creative ways to help you grow in your quiet time and personal relationship with God through journaling. All are welcome! First-time participants will receive a free journal along with some handouts to help you get started.

If you are interested in prayer journaling during the Friday Night Prayer Service, contact Sherry Bozorth.
